Watched "Whiterock Cliff" last night and really loved it - such an enlightening and interesting journey. Plus, the songs and performances are incredible. More theater pieces should utilize a theremin!

      A Story about a Bear
      Trail Tales
Be careful of off-road fire-pits. My ex, her dog and I had been trying to push on to a group campsite north of Hot Springs, NC and finally admitted we just weren't going to make it. So we found a spot with the remains of a firepit and just enough room for our tent. The dog was supposed to sleep outside the tent, but he would inevitably get scared and end up inside with us. On this particular night though he was actually outside the tent when suddenly we were awakened by the sound of underbrush being trampled. Not thinking, I unzipped the tent to check on the dog, who I found, just staring at a giant bear who was slowly moving toward the tent. Suddenly the dog starts barking and attacking the tent--not the bear--trying to claw his way in but mostly clawing my girlfriend who started screaming because the dog is attacking her. Meanwhile, I'd grabbed the nearest weapon. So there I am, boxers, barefoot, dog barking, girlfriend screaming, 15-20 feet from a bear, armed with a Swiss Army knife duct taped to the top of a hiking pole. I ran screaming at the bear with my spear, which took me straight into the smoldering embers of the fire pit--so I screamed some more. The bear, reared up on his hind legs and roared! Then it looked at me as if to say “Oh, you poor stupid baby” turned and walked back into the woods. Possible addendum: My ex...was angry that I'd let the dog attack her. She felt it was my fault we hadn't made it to the shelter, so everything that happened after that was just an extension of what I was responsible for rather than what I had accomplished.

A Hello from the Whiterock Cliff team
      Whiterock Cliff 2021
Greetings, fellow theater travelers! We are so excited to get back to performing, even if our enjoyment of the show is still in isolation. Since we cannot go grab a bite afterward, or whisper with our seatmates in the theater, we look to the customs of the Appalachian Trail to help us share this experience. On the AT, when you reach a shelter, you may find registers, a sort of communal journal for those experiencing the trail. People share their trials, victories, failures, hopes, stories, and information for fellow hikers. We want this forum to be like a theater register; a place for our audience to share their experiences, and to explore the experiences of other audience members, as this show grows from this version to the next, and a historical record as we (hopefully soon) get to meet at a bar or restaurant down the block from the theatre and share our thoughts on that night's performance. Hi! Welcome to the Premiere of Whiterock Cliff! I'm so happy you are joining us for this adventure!
