Performances Live Online Monday - Thursdays at 8 pm March 25th - April 22nd, special performance Friday, April 23rd
Join multi-instrumentalist and master storyteller Ryan McCurdy as he shares stories and songs about hiking the Appalachian Trail over a decade ago. Or maybe they’re about the musical he co-wrote in the year leading up to lockdown, about a rock star and a novelist who take to the trail in a moment of crisis. Or maybe they’re about something else entirely.
Just don’t expect him to tell you the truth.
Weaving together memory, music, mental health, the creative process, the stories we tell ourselves, and the ones we tell to each other, this high-wire act is performed live each night with the permission of Actors’ Equity from a Times Square studio with one performer, three cameras, and eight musical instruments.
Because you get to tell any story you survive.

Whiterock Cliff is a project that each member of the team is passionate about, and it hasn’t come to fruition in a bubble. Without the people holding us up and helping us on our way, this play would just be an idea in the heads of Ryan and Ellie. We at Goode Productions know that we are lucky to be a part of this project and want to help out the others who have had a hand in its development or are important to the creators of this story.
You can help support the future of Whiterock Cliff by buying a ticket to see this production, telling your friends and family to see it as well, and if you are so inclined, make an additional contribution when you do so. Every penny from ticket sales is going right back into the future of the production.
Support the company that produced the first workshop of the 6-person version of Whiterock Cliff. Bespoke Plays creates bi-coastal opportunities for writers with diverse stories and worldviews by producing play readings in Los Angeles and NYC customized to the goals of the writer and readiness of the play. Help us support the work of other playwrights by donating to Bespoke Plays here.
Ryan McCurdy, along with being an amazingly talented artist, is also the Executive Artistic Director of Savannah Repertory Theater. They are embarking on an ambitious Capital Campaign to build a black box theater in the very heart of Historic Downtown Savannah, bringing nonprofit theater back to Broughton Street after nearly two decades. Donate to their capital campaign here.
Goode Productions a strong believer in the emotional healing power of the arts and is proud to support New York City Children's Theater's educational work in schools and homeless shelters across the city. As part of NYC's Afterschool Reading Club (ARC) program, NYCCT is developing a trauma-informed pedagogy that guides children who have been exposed to trauma through the practice of using art to process and express trauma responses. As New York City school children (and teachers) move from isolation back to in-person classrooms, we can think of no better arts programming to help them make the adjustment. You can directly support the development of this program, as well as a series of Webinars being designed to help bring this program to other communities here.
On March 11, 2020, Arboretum and special guests performed Gracious Wine, one of the Trail Songs from Whiterock Cliff, at The Bitter End.
